my dream is to live at the intersection of strategy and soul, blending storytelling, intense  curiosity, and the belief that boundaries are creative opportunities to make wonderful work.
Hi, I’m Saphya!
I’m a Portland-based Afghan-American graphic designer, artist, and creative thinker. I believe design crafted with meaning belongs everywhere—on walls, on everyday objects, in public spaces, and in the stories we tell without saying a word. My design philosophy lives at the intersection of strategy and soul, blending storytelling, intense  curiosity, and the belief that boundaries are creative opportunities to make things that really connect.
I’m currently a senior at Portland State University, studying Graphic Design with a minor in Advertising. I've also studied at University of the Arts London, where I developed a love for speculative design and human-centered systems. Outside of school, I run a mural business with public art projects supported by the Regional Arts and Culture Council and local businesses in Portland.
I’m big on the power of visual language, fascinated by how people think and behave, and totally in love with the creative electricity you get when a narrative clicks—whether it’s for a brand, a mural, or something totally unexpected. My approach is multidisciplinary, a little messy, and always driven by meaning.
